That read out to be a bad comment and my apologies, your hard work shows the characters are very nicely made. Didn’t mean to sound rude, just noticed the similarities. Good work!
That’s fine adam, we kind of freaked out when we were one and a half years into our two year production and we saw the trailer to 9! But after learning more about their project, the themes and story of our two films are completely different, as is the mood, look and feel. Sure we both have numbers, but I’d say the characters from 9 look more like the characters from ‘Little Big Planet’… but on steroids.
Amazing, beautiful, touching, brilliant….the first words that came to my mind when I stumbled upon your trailer on Motionographer.com
…is there anyway you can keep me posted on the progress and if you get to show the final film somewhere?
Hi Markus, thanks for the kind words. Your best bet is to subscribe to the RSS feed or follow us on Twitter for alerts on festival screenings. Hopefully it’ll show in a location near you!
I imagine that would be starting at first to be so far into your project and find the “9″ trailers. But I do agree, they do seem like little big planet characters on steroids. Good luck, can’t to see where this goes for you guys.
Looks really great!
It could however, have worked just as well without the numbers. The simple fact that the main character is somewhat of a “black sheep” or “ugly duckling” would probably push the story just as good, or better than with the numbers. …That, and it is VERY similar to ’9′. Other than that, it looks wonderful!
Hey Lach, thanks for that. Yes they are miles apart. It’s quite easy for people to draw comparison’s to the number thing, but the similarities end there.
The trailer looked really cool. Designs are a bit like “9″, as Adam pointed out, but I think this will be different enough to stand out.
Looks really interesting!!!
i see similarities.. but then again does every hero with a cape fly like superman.. i wish i could see this but i’m afraid the cornfields of illinois might be a little too far for your film to reach me.. i hope you guys do well.. and i believe that your film will rise to the top as it should.
There is no Spanish or alternate language version of Zero at this stage.
If the film makes it into a Spanish film festival, we may be required to supply Spanish subtitles. Keep an eye on our website/RSS/Twitter for future festival info.
i LOVE the look of this film. i am a ginormous animation fan and it always makes my heart smile to see that people still care about handmade and 2d aesthetics. can’t wait to check this out!

Hi Rawls, without wanting to give too much of the story away, the numbers are an integral part of the plot. Cheers, Chris.

Fantastic stuff
- funny how stop motion suddenly puts you in this pleasurable zen mode of running your eyes over the textures and the lighting
As for the 9 thingy I do remember you posting about your film before i’d heard of 9 – and yes they’re miles apart in story .

Wow… so amazingly dark. I could almost imagine a yarn-wrapped Josef Mengele making selection in this world.

Just saw “Zero” at the One Reel Festival in Seattle. What a clever, lovely little film! Congratulations and my best wishes for success with it!
